Artist's Statement

Engagement with the present moment, specific places and related communities drives my work.

I approach ordinary materials and actions in a direct manner, watching for the moment when things spill over from block of wood simple task or strand of rope into another realm that could be viewed as art.

This light touch is humbling for me and, at times, for the viewer. A place of potential wonder and discomfort for both of us.
