Roos Arts is proud to present a three person exhibition, "The Bug, The Spider and The Butterfly:  Gerben Mulder, Xavier Noiret-Thomé and Janaina Tschäpe." This exhibition brings together three artists who explore painting and its process with both scrupulous and uninhibited intentions.  While one artist builds a painting with layers of cultural and personal flair, another discovers a merging of self and nature within a canvas. The finished work is both a rhetoric and representation of itself, both commentary and living reflection of Painting and its surrounding audience. More...

The Hudson Valley Seed Library and Roos Arts are thrilled to present “Pollinator Dreams”: The second annual show featuring the original artwork chosen for each seed package and Ayumi Horie’s special edition plates made to compliment the exhibition. Join us at Roos Arts to celebrate the launch of the 2010 Art Packs, meet the artists and founders of the Hudson Valley Seed Library. -Roos Arts is pleased to present a three person exhibition, “Must Paint: Sharon Broit, Betsy Friedman and Erik Schoonebeek”. These three artists have one thing in common: they collect. Broit, to name only a few of her obsessions, has a collection of women’s sexy, elaborate vintage shoe adornments and mid-century textile pattern goauches. Friedman’s studio and home are adorned with uncountable species of objects and artworks, postcards, magazines and kitsch. Schoonebeek collects book covers, boxes, music scores, and old paper, all of which he often uses as painting surfaces. Each artist utilizes in their work their collected items in direct or indirect ways often leaving the viewer contemplating on images that exist between fact and fiction. More...

This show highlights how bad ass women come together to arm wrestle and raise money for good causes. B.R.A.W.L. is growing in popularity with each event. Why? ...because the competition is so fierce.
